President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the creation of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City.
Proclamation No. 668 creates and designates a building and the parcels of land on which it stands as an Information Technology Center, identified as Lot 16-E, Psd-06-069682, and Lot 16-D-1, Psd-06-085931 at Donato Pison Avenue in Barangay San Rafael.
The building designated is to be known as “The Grid.”
The proclamation, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, was issued by the President upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
According to PEZA, majority or 297 of 419 economic zones in the country are information technology parks or centers.
The establishment of economic zones aims to “attract foreign investments.”IMT
