President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed how proud he is of Filipino gymnast Carlos “Caloy” Yulo, who ruled the men’s artistic gymnastics floor exercise and the men’s vault event at the Paris Olympics 2024.
“No words can express how proud we are of you, Caloy. You have achieved GOLD for the Philippines not once, but twice!” Marcos Jr. said in a Facebook post.
“Filipinos all over the world stood united, cheering and rooting for you. Aming ipinagmamalaki ang tagumpay mong nagniningning! Saludo kami sa iyo!” he added.
The 24-year-old Yulo garnered a 15.000 score in the men’s floor exercise on August 3 to become the first Filipino gymnast to reach the podium.
He scored 15.116 in vault final to secure his second Olympic title.IMT
