Visayan leaders reaffirmed their support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision for national progress during a unity lunch hosted by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

The event gathered governors, mayors, vice mayors, councilors, provincial board members, and barangay representatives, who issued manifestos recognizing the President’s commitment to nation-building.

“We, the duly elected governors of the Visayas region, representing our respective provinces and the millions of Filipinos who call the Visayas home, stand united in our unwavering support for the administration of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” the governors’ manifesto stated.

All 16 Visayan governors, including Cebu Gov. Garcia, Aklan Gov. Jose Enrique Miraflores, Guimaras Gov. JC Rahman Nava,  Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, Antique Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., and Capiz Gov. Fredenil Castro, signed the manifesto.

The League of Municipalities in Cebu praised Marcos’ leadership in making the Philippines an economic force in Asia, citing his decisive strategies for growth. The Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Cebu Chapter lauded his commitment to public welfare and nation-building.

“His firm leadership has resulted in progressive and dynamic results and responsiveness to the needs of Filipinos,” their manifesto said.

Sixteen PCL-Cebu members, including President Ricardo Pepito, signed the manifesto, along with seven Sangguniang Kabataan Federation members, who backed the “Bagong Pilipinas” governance vision promoting justice, equality, and integrity.
