President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. renewed his commitment to achieve zero hunger for Filipinos.
“No Filipino should go to bed hungry, and that no community will be overlooked in our fight against poverty,” Marcos Jr. said in his speech during the presentation of the signed Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Joint Memorandum Circular.
To support this goal, the President directed all government agencies and urged local government units to support the EPAHP for an accelerated approach to achieving zero hunger, food security, and sustainable agriculture.
“Through this, we can improve farm productivity, link farmers, fisherfolk, other food producers to larger markets, provide secure income—ensuring that our children, our mothers, our most vulnerable have access to nutritious food,” he explained.
With the signing of the EPAHP Joint Memorandum Circular, 34 partners from national agencies to international organizations committed to woring towards zero hunger in the Philippines.
They will supply food items under the Supplementary Feeding Program, said Marcos Jr., adding that this partnership goes beyond business.
“It is a true lifeline for our farmers and for our communities,” he added.IMT
