President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. made special mention of the Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project Stage II (JRMP II) in Iloilo during his third annual report on Monday, July 22.

In his State of the Nation Address (SONA), Marcos Jr. said once operational, the P19.7-billion JRMP II, the largest dam outside Luzon, will provide uninterrupted irrigation water supply to 32,000 hectares of farmland.

On July 16, Marcos Jr. was in Calinog town to lead the inauguration of the Jalaur mega dam that is seen to boost further the agricultural sector and economy of Western Visayas.

“Let this project serve as a benchmark and an inspiration for all endeavors of this scale and of this magnitude. It’s only the beginning of what we have in store for the development of our water resources,” he said.IMT
