President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will not be able to attend the highlights of this year’s celebration of the world-renowned Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City.
In a media interview, City Mayor Jerry Treñas said a formal invitation was sent to Marcos, but the latter could not make it.
The highlights of the festival, which officially kicked off on Jan. 12, are scheduled on Jan. 26-28.
The city government also invited First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, but she has yet to confirm her attendance.
On the other hand, Senators Imee Marcos and Risa Hontiveros have confirmed to attend the celebration.
Also gracing the festival are His Excellency Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke, the Ambassador of Germany to the Philippines; His Excellency Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Ambassador of Germany to the Philippines; and His Excellency Evan Garcia (Ambassador of Norway to the Philippines.).IMT
