Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation (MIESCOR) has expressed strong interest in partnering with More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power).
The partnership aims to propel the modernization and expansion of MORE Power’s operations in Iloilo province as well as its sister company, Negros Power.
MIESCOR, a leading provider of engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, and project management services, recently visited MORE Power’s headquarters in Iloilo City, outlining their interest in collaboration.

“We see a tremendous opportunity to work alongside MORE Power in their expansion plans for Iloilo and ongoing rehabilitation in Central Negros,” said MIESCOR President Richard Ochava.
“Our expertise in power infrastructure development and rehabilitation perfectly aligns with their vision for a modern and reliable energy system,” he further said.
MIESCOR, a subsidiary of Meralco, has extensive experience in the power sector, having successfully completed numerous projects across the Philippines.
Their proposed partnership extends beyond engineering and construction, offering to share expertise and best practices through comprehensive training programs for MORE Power’s linemen.
“Investing in our workforce is essential for a safe and efficient power system,” said MIESCOR Chief Operations Officer Wilfredo Bernardo.
“We are committed to sharing our knowledge and experience to elevate the skills of MORE Power’s linemen,” he added.
MIESCOR and MORE Power will also establish the Utility Attachment Office, which will manage the attachment of telephone and cable company lines to electric distribution poles. This will institutionalize the campaign to address the unsightly and often hazardous “spaghetti wiring” in Iloilo City.
MORE Power President Roel Castro expressed enthusiasm for the potential partnership, emphasizing the shared commitment to innovation and community service.
“We at MORE and Negros Power are truly grateful for MIESCOR’s interest. Their expertise in the power sector is highly respected. We believe that their involvement would be invaluable as we expand and modernize our operations in Iloilo and Negros province,” he said.
“This partnership holds great promise for achieving even greater progress in providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions for our communities,” Castro added.
The combination of MIESCOR’s expertise with MORE and Negros Power’s innovative approach could lead to a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable power system for the region, ultimately benefiting the communities they serve.
