Money emerged as the most preferred Valentine’s Day gift for Filipinos, according to a national survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Based on the results released on Sunday, Feb. 11, 16 percent of Filipinos wished to receive money from their loved ones on Valentine’s Day.
Eleven percent said they would want to receive love and companionship, followed by flowers (10%), apparel (9 percent), any gift “from the heart” (5 percent), mobile phones (5 percent), watch or jewelry (5 percent) and good family relationship (5 percent ).
Other gifts that made it to the list were food and grocery items (3 percent), chocolates (3 percent), health of loved ones 3 percent), motorcycle or other vehicles (2 percent) and appliances (2 percent).
More women (19 percent) wished for money than men (12 percent.). They also preferred flowers (13 percent).
For men, the top gift wish was apparel (14 percent).
The survey was conducted from Dec. 8 to 11. It had 1,200 adult respondents and a margin of error of plus/minus 2.8 percent.IMT
