Current political issues will not affect the country’s positive economic outlook, according to National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.
“Business as usual for us. I don’t think that these political noises would have any impact on the economy. What matters is that our economic policies are sound and sustained,” Balisacan said during a Palace press briefing.
The NEDA chief said the country has overcome various political challenges since the late 1990s and remained resilient due to stable economic policies.
The Marcos administration is focused on meeting the targets outlined in the Philippine Development Plan to drive the country toward prosperity and resilience, he added.
“In this administration, we are so focused on ensuring that the goals and targets and strategies that we have outlined in the Philippine Development Plan will be achieved. And that’s what is important for the broad public to signal that the economic momentum is sustained,” said Balisacan.IMT
