A new business process outsourcing (BPO) company in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City will start its operations next month.

TELUS International Philippines Inc. (TIP), one of the country’s largest BPO companies, is expected to create at least 1,000 fresh jobs in the city.

Mayor Jerry Treñas thanked the BPO firm for choosing the city as location of its first-ever site outside Metro Manila.

“Many of our residents had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and we are very happy to see that a lot of industries expressed their interest in investing in the city,” he said

“This will help cope with the effects of the decline of the economy,” the mayor added.

Based on its official website, TIP maintains six sites in Metro Manila. It is “engaged in customer experience and digital information technology (IT) outsourcing.”IMT
