Tribes competing in this year’s edition of Dinagyang will showcase performances at an arena-type.

The Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) introduced the “upgraded” tribe competition called “Dinagyang 360°” during the opening salvo last Friday, Jan. 10.

The tribe competition is the festival’s main highlight which will take place on Jan. 26.

A total of eight tribes from different schools in the city are vying for the championship title.

Each tribe gave a preview of their 360° performance during Friday’s program.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas commended the IFFI for holding the “flamboyant” and “vibrant” opening salvo of Dinagyang 2020.

IFFI is the new organizer of the world-famous Dinagyang.

“IFFI is indeed bringing Dinagyang to the next Level,” said Treñas.

The mayor also thanked the Ilonggos for their support and cooperation.

“Ini panugod pa lang. Madamu pa kita sang balantayan. Let us all be excited to witness the grandest ever Dinagyang 360°,” said Treñas.

“This is for all of us Ilonggos and together let us showcase to the world our talents and creativity as it will bring pride and honor to our city,” he added.IMT
