President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared October 28, 2024 a special non-working day in the town of Dingle, Iloilo in commemoration of Cry of Lincud.

The declaration is contained in Proclamation No. 599 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of the President.

“This is to allow its people to participate in the commemoration of Cry of Lincud, the first declaration of revolution against Spain in the province and the island of Panay,” the proclamation stated.

Dingle is a 3rd-class municipality composed of 33 barangays. It has a population of 45,965 as of the 2020 Census, and a land area of 98.37 square kilometers.IMT
