More than 100 families were left homeless when a fire razed a residential area in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district, Iloilo City on Tuesday morning, March 5.
According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), 55 houses were totally burned and 48 were partially damaged.
The fire, which broke out at 7:49 and was declared out at 9:01 a.m., affected a total of 109 families or 423 individuals.
The affected families are currently taking temporary shelter at Mandurriao Elementary School.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and the cost of property damage.IMT
