More than seven hundred thousand learners have so far enrolled in schools in Western Visayas for School Year 2024-2025, according to the Department of Education (DepEd-6).

As of July 15, DepEd-6 reported a total of 746 thousand enrollees, of which 377 thousand are elementary pupils (kindergarten to Grade 6), 242 thousand are junior high school students (Grade 7 to Grade 10), and 127 thousand are senior high school students (Grade 11 – Grade 12).

The enrollment period in all public schools for the upcoming school year officially began on July 3 and will end on July 26. Classes are scheduled to start on July 29.

Hernani Escullar Jr., DepEd-6 information officer, said the ongoing enrollment in the region has been smooth and peaceful so far with no major problems.

He, meanwhile, urged students and parents to enroll now and not to wait for the deadline.IMT
