The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Western Visyas has jumped to 274.
The latest figure came with the addition of 26 new cases reported by the Department of Health (DOH-6) on Sunday, June 29.
The new COVID-19 cases involved 14 locally stranded individuals (LSIs), six overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and six doctors from a hospital in Iloilo City.
The patients are from Iloilo City (6), Iloilo province (8), Bacolod City (10), Guimaras (1) and Negros Occidental (1). They are all under facility quarantine.
The DOH-6 also reported two additional recoveries, bringing the total number of survivors in Western Visayas to 125.
The latest recoveries include a 24-year-old male LSI from Escalante City in Negros Occidental and a 25-year-old male OFW from Miagao in Iloilo province.
Meanwhile, the death toll remains at 11.
Of the region’s 138 active cases, 129 are LSIs and OFWs repatriated from Manila and Cebu.IMT
