The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board has approved the “Philippines: Health System Resilience Project, Phase 1” program of the Department of Health (DOH), which aims at strengthening health emergency measures across the country.

Marcos Jr. commended the program as it reflects lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and addresses gaps identified during the global health crisis.

“Maganda ito kasi specific to the Philippines. It’s not a general … (it is) specific even to the area,” the President told Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa.

The program, costing P27.921 billion, will prioritize healthcare access in 17 provinces identified for a pilot run.

It aligns with the goals of the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and aiums to build an enabling environment, project management, monitoring, and emergency response planning.IMT
