Authorities confiscated P40.8 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Don T. Lutero East, Janiuay, Iloilo on Sunday morning, Dec. 17.
The illegal drugs weighing more or less six kilograms were seized from two suspects identified only by their aliases as “Ira” and “Koikoi.”
The two, who have been listed as high-value individuals (HVIs), will face charges for violating of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was conducted by elements of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB-6), and the Janiuay police station.
“Another high impact accomplishment through intelligence-driven operation coupled with the support of the populace,” Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, Police Regional Office (PRO-6), said in a statement.
“Marami na namang buhay ang ating nailigtas na malulong sa iligal na droga. Kailangan nating magtulongan para masiguro ang ligtas at payapang komunidad,” he added.
Villaflor assured the public that PRO-6 will continue its efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.IMT
