State weather bureau PAGASA has lifted storm signals in Iloilo and other parts of Western Visayas.
Only Caluya Island in the province of Antique remains under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1.
Based on its weather bulletin issued at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, PAGASA said “Paeng” weakened into a tropical storm and was about to exit the land mass of Luzon.
Paeng was last spotted at the vicinity of Candelaria, Zambales. It was packing with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 140 km/h, and central pressure of 990 hPa.
The tropical storm is moving northwestward at 25 km/h.
“Light to moderate with at times heavy rains possible over Western Visayas,” PAGASA said.
“The outer circulation of PAENG and the surge of the Northeast Monsoon will also bring gusty condition reaching strong to gale-force strength over Western Visayas,” it added.
Paeng is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow morning or afternoon, Oct. 31.IMT
