Malacañang said it won’t support efforts to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a media interview, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said such efforts would only distract the administration from more pressing national issues.
“Unambiguous na wala kaming kinalaman d’yan and we are not going to encourage that,” said Bersamin.
“The President has been very clear about his position in this. So any suggestion na political ‘yan, na instigated by our side, no. That is never true,” he added.
Last week, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his opposition to impeachment calls, stating that it would not benefit the Filipino people.
Bersamin also clarified that Malacañang “has nothing to do” with the impeachment complaint filed against Duterte, describing it as an independent intiative by private citizens.
Its endorsement is up to individual members of the House of Representatives, according to him.IMT
