Some parts of Iloilo will experience power interruptions of up to 11 hours during the weekend.
In an advisory, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said it will conduct maintenance works on its transmission facilities from Saturday, Nov. 9, to Sunday, Nov. 10.
An 11-hour power interruption is scheduled between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. It will affect the entire towns of Alimodian, Cabatuan, Leon, Maasin, Oton, San Miguel, Tigbauan, and Tubungan.
Other affected towns are the following:
*Sta. Barbara except Barangays Cabugao Norte, Calaboa Este, Calaboa Oeste, Conaynay, Lupa, Magancina, and Tuburan
*Guimbal except Barangays Baras, Cabubugan, Calampitao, and Nalundan
*Pavia except Barangays Anilao, Cabugao Norte, Pagsanga-an, Tigum, Ungka I, and Ungka II
*Igbaras except Barangays, Bagacayan, Buenavista, Calampitao, Lumangan, Lutungan, Sta. Barbara, and Talayatay
“Power maybe restored earlier than or as scheduled, so please consider all lines and equipment energized at all times,” said the Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO I).
A six-hour power interruption is also scheduled between 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday. It will affect Panay Electric Company (PECO), Iloilo City’s sole power distributor, and ILECO I’s substation in Pavia.
“Specific affected areas are determined by the distribution utilities,” said NGCP.
Portions of Lambunao town will also experience a four-hour power interruption on Saturday.
Affected barangays, according to ILECO II, are Poblacion Ilawod, Poblacion Ilaya, Cayan Oeste, Misi, Pughanan, Tampucao and Panuran.
