Retail prices of pork in the province of Iloilo have soared, reaching as high as P400 per kilogram in some markets.
Based on the Provincial Veterinarian’s Office’s monitoring as of Nov. 14, a kilogram of pork was being sold for an average price of P359.
The highest average price was recorded in the towns of Balasan, San Rafael and Barotac Nuevo, at P400 per kilogram.
On the other hand, the town of Lemery registered the lowest price of pork, averaging at P300 per kilogram.
In terms of live weight hogs, the average cost in the province was at P214 per kilogram.
The highest average price was noted in the town of Estancia at P240 per kilogram while Leon logged the lowest average price at P190 per kilogram.IMT
