The entire city of Iloilo will experience power interruption today, Feb. 26, due to preventive maintenance works.
The scheduled preventive maintenance of 50 MVA power transformer will be undertaken by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
The NGCP also asked for the shutdown of the Sta. Barbara Power Barge 69KV line to facilitate correction works.
“Sa pagpatigayon sang preventive maintenance services sang NGCP, hingalitan man sang MORE Power nga magpatigayon sang parallel line works kun sa diin pagatutukon ang pag-ilis kag pagpatindog sang bag-o nga poste kag hotspot corrections sa pila ka mga feeder lines,” MORE Power said in a statement.
The NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of transmitting electricity generated by power plants all over the country to power distribution utilities.
The power interruption will last for 8 to 12 hours from 6 a.m.
“Ang ini nga aktibidad ang isa lamang sa madamo pa nga preparasyon sang MORE Power para sa palaabuton nga summer, bangud paga-ekspektaron ang pagbag-o sang demand sa kuryente kag para man sa palaabuton nga eleksyon, agud mapasigurado ang estable nga supply sang kuryente,” MORE Power said.
“Ini tanan ang kabahin sa gihapon sang rehabilitation activities sang MORE Power para sa 5-year development plan sang MORE Power nga amat-amat nga ma-modernize ang distribution facilities sini,” the city’s sole power distributor added.IMT
