PRO-6 neutralizes nearly half of drug personalities in WV

Majority of drug personalities in Western Visayas are residing in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO-6).

The PRO-6 recorded a total of 3,481 individuals involved in drug activities from Dec. 5, 2017 to Nov. 4 2019.

The province of Negros Occidental posted the highest number of drug personalities with 1,725, followed by Bacolod City with 1,033.

Of the drug personalities on the PRO-6’s watch list, 44.23 percent or 1,554 were neutralized.

Broken down, 1,040 surrendered to authorities, 493 were arrested and 21 died in police operations.

The PRO-6 seized P478 million worth of shabu from its intensive anti-drugs operations.

Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said their operations from January 1 to Nov.4, 2019 resulted in the confiscation of P162 million worth of shabu.

“We have surpassed our achievements last year in terms of confiscation,” she said.IMT
