Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas has commended the Iloilo Provincial Government for its “successful” hosting of this year’s Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, one of the highlights of the world-renowned Dinagyang Festival.
The provincial government, headed by governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., handled the 2024 edition of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan.
Dubbed as the “festival of festivals, the competition was participated in by nine festivals in the province. It was held on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 27.
According to Treñas, the competing tribes “gave impressive and captivating performances highlighting the province’s rich history, culture and tradition; abundant resources; and loving and friendly Ilonggos.”.
“This year was indeed a grander celebration of our Kasadyahan as a result of a stronger commitment from the Iloilo Provincial Government under Governor Toto Defensor. My warmest congratulations!” he said.
The nine competing tribes were Tribu Katagman of Oton, Tribu Pantat of Zarraga, Tribu Kaing of Leon, Tribu Saad of Leganes, Tribu Cry of Jelicuon of New Lucena, Tribu Tultugan of Maasin, Tribu Jalaud Hinirugyaw-Suguidanonaynirugyaw-Suguidanonay of Calinog, Tribu Kasag of Banate, and Tribu Banaag of Anilao.IMT
