Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo led the ceremonial lighting of Iloilo Business Park’s (IBP) giant Christmas tree on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Ilongga beauty queen arrived at the event, held outside the Festive Walk Mall, wearing her red gown and P5-million “Filipina” crown.
Rabiya was joined by IBP vice president for sales and marketing Jennifer Palmares-Fong, Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) president Jobert Peñaflorida, and Miguel Treñas, Mayor Jerry Treñas’ representative.
The 24-year-old stunner arrived in Iloilo for her grand homecoming on Friday, Nov. 13.
IBP, Megaworld’s 72-hectare township in Mandurriao district, hosted Meteo’s homecoming after winning the crown last October 25.
“She is a perfect model not just to Ilonggos but to all Filipinos in terms of how a phenomenal woman like her inspires young people to continue to dream bigger,” said Fong.
The IBP official assured Rabiya of continued support as the latter vies for the Miss Universe 2020 crown.
“Rabiya’s milestone has once again put Iloilo City in the global spotlight, and we are more than happy to support her,” said Fong
“We are very excited to see her do her signature ‘Festive Walk’ at the global stage. For us, she is truly an embodiment of a gwapa nga Ilongga that mirrors a phenomenal woman with a heartfelt beauty,” she added.IMT
