Raisa Treñas-Chu was tight-lipped about what transpired during a meeting with House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Iloilo City Representative Julienne “Jamjam” Baronda.

In a Facebook post, Chu encouraged members of the media “to ask [Romualdez] directly what transpired and who initiated [the] meeting.”

“I am not one to break the confidentiality of that meeting. But do ask him,” she said.

Chu, daughter and executive assistant of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, is one of the aspiring candidates for the city’s lone congressional seat in the 2025 midterm elections.

Last March, Treñas announced that he and Baronda, who are both serving their second term in office, have decided to end their political alliance after two successful elections together.

The mayor said his daughter will be his official candidate for the congressional post.

Baronda, on the other hand, has yet to share her plans for next year’s elections.

Chu of the National Unity Party (NUP) and Baronda of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) are both part of the administration coalition.IMT
