The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has recorded an increase in the number of registered voters in Iloilo City.
As of Wednesday, Sept. 25, COMELEC-Iloilo City has registered more than 319,000 voters for the May 2025 midterm elections.
The number, according to the poll body, is higher by over 2,000 compared the total number of voters in the previous elections.
The voter registration period for next year’s polls, which started last February, is set to end on Monday next week, Sept. 30.
The filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for aspiring candidates is scheduled from Oct. 1 to 8 this year.
COMELEC will hold the filing of COCs at Festive Walk Mall in Mandurriao district for electoral aspirants from Iloilo province and at Robinsons Place Iloilo in City Proper for those from the city.IMT
