Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna is planning to create a team that will regularly inspect transport terminals in Iloilo City.
Conducting regular inspections, according to the Cabaluna, will help ensure the safety of passengers and cleanliness of terminals, among others.
The councilor said the team will be composed of personnel from the City Health Office, Office of the Building Official, City Engineer’s Office and the Iloilo City Traffic Management Unit.
Cabaluna is the chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Transportation.
Recently, a netizen called for the improvement of transport terminals in Iloilo City, the regional capital of Western Visayas.
“While [the city] is promoting itself as a prime travel destination, it still needs to improve its transport terminals,” Facebook user Jun Ramirez said.
“Public transport terminals in the city are inefficient, uncomfortable, confusing and dirty. City officials should check out Koronadal City or Zamboanga City terminals,” he added.IMT
