The P30-million rehabilitation of the town hall of Calinog, Iloilo has officially begun.
Iloilo Third District Congressman Lorenz Defensor, Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., and Calinog Mayor Francisco Calvo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on March 31.
They were joined by former governor Arthur Defensor Sr., Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo District Engineer Sanny Boy Oropel, and other municipal officials.
The project, according to Calvo, was conceptualized during the administration of Defensor Sr.
“Si Gov Sr. ka dya ya nagprekurar kag nagsuggest ka mga plano ka dyang aton nga munisipyo,” he said in his opening remarks.
“Kung ang Lambunao nakapatindog ka munisipyo sa balor nga P67 million, ang Calinog mabudgetan it P30 milyones mapahuman naton kag mapanami pa naton sa ana ka Lambunao,” he added.
The project was funded through the Local Infrastracture Program of Congressman Defensor.
