Justice Secretary Boying Remulla has refrained from commenting on the ongoing calls for the Philippines to rejoin the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“It’s beyond me. It’s beyond my pay grade,” Remulla said during yesterday’s (March 19) “Kapihan sa Manila Bay” event at Cafe Adriatico in Malate, Manila.

He emphasized that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is the chief architect of the country’s foreign policy.

“I will not assert any personal views on the matter. I have no opinion to share,” added Remulla.

The Philippines was a member of the ICC from 2011 until it officially withdrew in 2019.IMT
