There is a resurgence of illegal drugs in Iloilo City, but it is not alarming.
This was according to Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
“Mga remnants ni sang daan nga bigtime players kag amo ni sila ang ginafocusan sang aton operations,” he told IMT NEWS.
“Indi alarming kay indi pa amo na ka lala. Sang nagpungko kita damo positive operations,” Coronica added.
Coronica, former head of the Personnel and Records Management Division of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), assumed the function of OIC last month.
He replaced former Colonel Leo Batiles who was relieved from his post following the drug operation that led to the arrest of 32 suspects and the confiscation of nearly P1 million worth of shabu in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district on Jan. 25.
ICPO seized a total of 250 grams of shabu valued at more than P1.428 million in 23 anti-drug operations from Jan. 27 to Feb. 19 this year.
The operations also resulted in the arrest of 34 suspects, of which six were identified as high-value individual, 13 as street-level individuals and15 were not on the drug list.IMT
