Richmonde Hotel Iloilo successfully held a special event featuring sumptuous mango-themed dishes and other culinary treasures of the island province of Guimaras last Saturday, April 20.
Isla Guimaras: A Taste of Mangoes and More, a partnership of Richmonde Hotel and the Guimaras Provincial Government, offered a dinner buffet filled with specially curated culinary delights.
The special event was graced by Governor JC Rahman A. Nava and Congresswoman Ma. Lucille L. Nava, Vice Governor John Edward Gando and members of the Provincial Board.
Also present were Richmonde Hotel Iloilo general manager Natalie Lim, Chef Ariel Castañeda, Iloilo City Tourism officer and Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines president Junel Ann Divinagracia, and Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) president Allan Tan.
“Isla Guimaras was a sight and taste to behold! We thank The Province of Guimaras, Cong. Dr. Lucille Nava, Gov. Dr. JC Rahman Nava and all our friends who supported Isla Guimaras: A Taste of Mangoes and More!” Richmonde Hotel said.
“Due to the success of the special event, we will continue to showcase the various Guimaras goodies at our lobby to support local MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises). The fresh mangoes will be back on Wednesday (April 24),” it added.
Next month, Guimaras — known as “Mango Capital of the Philippines” — will celebrate its Manggahan Festival. One of the highlights of the festival is the Mango Eat-All-You-Can event where guests can feast on unlimited mangoes.IMT
