The ongoing road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 2nd District Engineering Office is expected to improve the delivery of essential services in Barangay Libertad, Banate town.
The project worth P4.8 million is financed under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA). It involves the construction of a 0.4-kilometer road with a thickness of 0.2 meters and a width of 5 meters.
According to DPWH-6 regional director Nerie Bueno, the project, once completed, will fuel economic growth in the community, making it easier for businesses to reach new customers and markets, creating job prospects for residents, and boosting the local economy.
“The completion of this project will build a more prosperous and connected community. Its location on the coast, combined with its improved accessibility, makes it an ideal place for economic development that will positively impact the surrounding communities,” she said.
These vital services include access to schools, health centers, and markets, leading to value-added living standards for the people.IMT
