To address the increasing number of suicide cases, the Roxas City Government and Capiz Provincial Government formed Task Force Suicide.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said he was alarmed by the reported cases of suicide in the city as well as in the province.
The task force is composed of the City Health Office, Provincial Health Office, Department of Health, Capiz Medical Society, Department of Education-Roxas City Division, and Capiz State University.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, during its regular session on July 16, approved the creation of the task force, which was pushed by Board Member Jonathan “Sunny” Besa.
The approval came after Board Member Thea Faith Reyes delivered her privilege speech regarding the rising number of suicide cases in Capiz.
“Capiz province is the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, but if suicide cases are not prevented, this province might be called as suicide capital of the Philippines,” Reyes said.IMT
