The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Iloilo will equip agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the municipality of Sara, Iloilo with skills training in organic agriculture production.
TESDA 6 Director Jerry Tizon personally handed over the scholarship grants to a representative of the 25 ARB recipients coming from the villages of Devera, Malapaya and Pasig during the distribution of Emancipation Patents/Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) on May 15, 2021 in Sara National High School.
The 25 new land owners were among the 751 ARBs who received their CLOA covering 717.4118 hectares from Agrarian Reform Secretary Bro. John Castriciones during the event.
In his message, Tizon encouraged ARBs to avail of the various skills trainings and livelihood qualifications offered by the agency for the enhancement of their capabilities and earnings.
“Marami po kaming training interventions na pwede po naming maibigay sa inyo, hangad naming na mapaunlad at mapagyaman ang mga lupang naibigay na sa inyo sa pamamagitan ng programang ito,” Tizon said.
He said that aside from skills training on agriculture and other agri-related courses which can help farmers increase their farm productivity, they have also available trainings that can help provide farmers additional livelihood opportunities while waiting for harvest and amid the pandemic.
These training are in driving and related to construction, among others.
All they have to do is coordinate with TESDA offices nearest them, according to Tizon.JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo
