A sculpted mural at the newly redeveloped Iloilo Provincial Capitol complex on Bonifacio Drive in Iloilo City was formally unveiled on Monday, Dec. 2.
The unveiling of the mural, which depicts Iloilo’s rich culture and heritage, was led by Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., Vice Governor Christine Garin, former governor Arthur “Art” Defensor Sr., and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
They were joined by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, mayors, and department heads of the provincial government.
Ilonggo Senator Franklin Drilon was supposed to attend the event, but he didn’t make it due to Typhoon Tisoy.
Titled “Panaysayun sang Paranoblion,” the mural was designed by architects Victor Jacinto, Ryan Angelo Braga, Kenneth Torre, and Jorge Cadiao,Jr. It was sculpted by architects Margarette Pampliega and Albert Pampliega.
The mural is part of the P400-million redevelopment project, which was inaugurated on the same day.IMT
