The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has assured that security measures are 100 percent ready for third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Concerned government agencies have done all the necessary preparations days ahead of the SONA Day on July 22, MMDA Special Events chief Emmanuel Miro said at the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City.
Miro, however, declined to comment on the security arrangements because their agency only handles traffic-related concerns.
“I’m not the right person sa security. Pero bilang bahagi po ng security interagency, it seems na okay naman. Mukhang hundred percent na tayo,” according to him.
The MMDA official said a total of 1,329 MMDA personnel will be deployed during the annual presidential speech to manage traffic.
“This includes po sa traffic management, parking management, clearing, pati din po iyong ating mga technical team na mag-monitor po sa ating mga highways,” said Miro.
“We have a final interagency coordination sa Congress. So, this [will be] represented po ng part ng Senate, ng House saka ng Office of the President. On the other side naman sa security, sa Tuesday we have a meeting with the NCRPO to finalize all plans at saka iyon pong deployment,” he also said.IMT
