After a week of competitive basketball, St. John’s Institute and Toto Tia Ten/XYZ are still undefeated in the ongoing Iloilo Youth Basketball League (IYBL).
The Bacolod-based team maintains its unblemished record with three wins already while Toto Tia Ten cruises to a comfortable 2-0 win loss card.
According to Tournament Commissioner Ronnie Degala, they gathered positive feedback from the first ever tournament.
“I got positive feedback especially from SJI that they were really happy joining our tournament. Uhaw na uhaw na daw talaga sila na makalaro uli sa liga after a hiatus of more than two years. And we’re happy for the local teams nga maka experience and mag ka chance na makalaban ang mga top teams here in Iloilo and Negros.
Meanwhile, in the Bracket A, Jalandoni Memorial NHS Panthers, Rooks, and Westbridge Voyagers rank second with a 1-1 win-loss card.
Bolilao settles for second in the Bracket B with two wins and a loss while Conce Crita Villa has one win already.
For Elite Lab’s Eugene Chua, he said so far they were warmly welcomed by the players and coaches
“The way ng pag welcome ng mga team participants, kitang kita mo na masayang masaya ang mga bata pati rin ang mga magulang supportado nila ang mga bata. Iba ang feeling pag andun ka ramdam mo ang excitement, ” he added.
