Outgoing Education Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio on Thursday, July 18, formally turned over her post to new Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
Duterte-Carpio handed over the DepEd Seal and Flag to Angara during a ceremony held at the DepEd Complex in Pasig City
“Nais kong bigyan ng pagkilala sina Vice President Sara Duterte at mga outgoing officials. Sa loob ng dalawang taon, kayo ang naging sandigan ng ating mga mag-aaral at ng mga guro sa panahon ng mga suliranin,” said Angara, who was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 2.
“Buong pagpapakumbaba kong tinatanggap ang katungkulan na ito na ibinigay ng pangulo,” he added.
The Vice President resigned from her Cabinet post on June 19, 2024, which will take effect tomorrow, July 19.IMT
