South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his leadership that has driven development in the Philippines.
“Through my visit to Manila, I saw firsthand the ongoing dynamic development of this great nation under the leadership of President Marcos Jr. I also witnessed the infinite potential of Korea-Philippines relations,” Yoon told Marcos during their joint press conference in Manila.
The South Korean leader said that he is honored and privileged to make the State Visit to the Philippines, which he considered as a core partner of South Korea in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
He also noted the timeliness of his visit as the Philippines and South Korea celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations since it was formally established on March 3, 1949.
Yoon and Marcos Jr. also formally elevated the relationship of the Philippines and South Korea to a Strategic Partnership.IMT
