A team from the Social Security System (SSS) visited six establishments in Antique recently to remind employers to comply with their obligations as provided under the Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018.

SSS Visayas West 2 Division, Acting Head Angelo O. Blancaver, in an interview, emphasized that the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) is meant to ensure the SSS contributions of employees are paid on time, so the employees will have social protection.

He noted that when the payment of SSS is updated, the employees can avail of other benefits such as maternity leave, sickness benefits, apply for a loan, and avail of pension after they reach the age of 60, that is, if they have paid not less than 120 months contributions.

Blancaver cited the positive response of establishments that were given show cause order, noting that they committed to visit the office of SSS to settle their accounts.

He added that the show cause order was given to establishments to remind them of their obligations under the law.

The establishments were given 15 days to settle their obligations with SSS, otherwise the due process will push through to include the filing of casesto those who will remain non-compliant.

Blancaver said SSS is resolute in complying with its mandate to ensure the social protection of employees while at the same time helping employers comply with their obligations.

The SSS has online platforms open for employers and members, so they could have easy transactions with the agency. The public may also visit the website of SSS at https://www.sss.gov.ph/ and its FB page @ Philippine Social Security System – SSS.

Aside from Blancaver, the RACE team was joined by its legal officer, lawyer Joelleni Talledo-Caimoso, Corporate Executive Officer-Employer Delinquency Monitoring Department Elmer B. Sendico, Acting Senior Communications Analyst Amiel Y. Genova, SSS Antique Manager Philip M. Lucero, members of the media and other account officers of SSS Antique.JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique
