Two residents of the province of Iloilo are among the 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Western Visayas.
A 32-year-old male from Lambunao and a 25-year-old male from Leon tested positive for the disease.
The two are locally stranded individuals (LSIs). They arrived in Iloilo from Cebu on June 10.
According to Department of Health (DOH-6), the asymptomatic patients are currently staying in their towns’ respective quarantine facilities.
Leon Mayor Ma. Lina Cabana Holipas said they were saddened that despite their efforts to prevent the entry of COVID-19, one of their residents contracted the disease.
The province now has 15 COVID-19 involving repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individual (LSIs).
Of the 15, five have recovered, one has died and nine are facility quarantined.IMT
