Volleybelles from Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts’ secondary and elementary girls volleyball team proved to be one of the best squads in the country as they swept the championship titles in the Bacolod City Provincial Meet 2025 on Saturday at the Montalbo Gym.
Fueled with passion and skills, Most Valuable Player and Best Open Hitter Rhose Vianne Almendralejo cruised to a 25-9, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15 victory over Negros Occidental in the secondary girls finals.
Brianna Ang was awarded as 1st Best Middle Blocker and Best Server, Camila Amor Bartolome as 2nd Best Middle Blocker, Alexa Bertolano as Best Opposite Hitter, Rhea Tomas as Best Libero, and Jan Rose Bulak as Best Setter.
The Thunderbolts squad are composed of Czarina Dosayla, Joenil Anne Ramos, Ana Hermosura, Abigael Labajo, Caitlyn Espinosa, and Edz Karylle Escultura. Serving as head coach is Ian Macariola and Jose Montalbo as team manager.
Duplicating the winning performance of their seniors, Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts’ elementary girls volleyball team also ruled their division with a 25-13, 25-13 domination over Silay in the championship match.
Mari Cacho was later named MVP and 1st Best Middle Blocker, while teammates Samantha Valenciano (2nd Best Middle Blocker), Chinnie Millama (Best Setter), and Cielo Palabrica (Best Libero) also received citations.
Other members of the team are Jeydi Crystal Panisales, Mhegan Ordaniel, Chloe Depalubos, Lorraine Lim, Jana Cadeliña, Maxiane Busel. Serving as head coach for Tay Tung elementary is Roberto Calamba Jr. with Jose Montalbo as team manager.
Both the secondary and elementary girls volleyball teams will next compete in the WVRAA Meet scheduled from March 1 to 8 in Antique.IMT Sports
