Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has been hailed first among the top performing city mayors in the country.
Treñas received a 93.07% rating in public office and public trust, according to a recent national performance survey of the RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD) conducted from September 20–30, 2023.
The RPMD, through its social media page, stated that Treñas has solidified his status as the top-performing city mayor with significant progress and an indication of a notable enhancement in his governance and leadership effectiveness.
“I am very grateful to my fellow Ilonggos, especially here in Iloilo City, for their continued trust and confidence in my leadership. For me, this is a recognition and validation of all the hard work and dedication of all the men and women in the City Government,” Treñas stated.
The city mayor added that this will serve as an inspiration for his administration to do better and come up with more programs for the benefit of the whole Ilonggo community.
“I dedicate all our efforts to our people. I will continue to do my best, hoping to serve as an inspiration to my fellow public servants and leaders,” the Treñas said.
The survey recognized city mayors based on seven criteria: service delivery, financial acumen, economic progress, leadership governance, environmental conservation, social initiatives, and engagement.
This assessment was further realized in his achievement as a public official through the WHEELS Program for Inclusive Development, which focuses on Welfare, Health, Education, Environment, Livelihood and Sustainability.
According to RPMD, this comprehensive assessment highlights the dedication and effective governance of city mayors in the region, showcasing their commitment to their communities.PR/Iloilo City PIO
