Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas is in recovery after undergoing angioplasty on Saturday, Dec. 2.
“The mayor underwent a successful angioplasty today following a routine general medical check-up,” the City Mayor’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
“His doctor found a blocked artery in his heart, thus necessitating the procedure that took only 30 minutes,” it added.
Angioplasty, according to mayoclinic.org, “is a nonsurgical procedure used to open clogged heart arteries to improve blood flow to your heart.”
“The Iloilo City Government is requesting everyone to pray for the speedy recovery of [Treñas]. Let us all include him and his family in our prayers,” CMO said.IMT
