Senator Raffy Tulfo is wondering why no cases have been filed against employees from the local civil registrar and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) who allegedly helped foreigners obtain fake Philippine passports and birth certificates.
Aside from the Guo family, Tulfo lamented that many foreign nationals and illegal Chinese immigrants using fraudulent documents have previously been intercepted in Philippine borders.
In 2023, the Bureau of Immigration intercepted a total of 17 Chinese nationals who entered and exited the country using Philippine passports.
“Now it is obvious that there is a clear and present danger to our national security. Ilan pang Alice Guo ang mayroon sa ating bansa holding sensitive and important positions?” the broadcaster-turned-politician said.
“May nakasuhan o na-convict na ba na mga taga PSA at local civil registrar’s office? Antagal nang pinaguusapan nito and yet wala pang nakakasuhan at nacoconvict,” he added.
Tulfo is the chairperson of the Senate public services panel.IMT
