Iloilo Fifth District Representative Raul “Boboy” Tupas has vowed to rally behind the administration of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. if elected vice governor in the 2025 midterm polls.

The congressman, who is currently serving his third and last term at the House of Representatives, is running against Anilao Mayor Lee Ann Debuque, Defensor’s running mate.

In an interview, Tupas stressed that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan — composed of board members, ex-officio members, and the vice governor as presiding officer — plays a vital role in pursuing the governor’s programs and projects.

Should he win in the upcoming elections, the Ilonggo lawmaker said he will prioritize, among others, the construction of more classrooms and farm-to-market roads as well as the improvement of district hospitals.

In a press conference, Defensor thanked Tupas for supporting him and his administration’s initiatives for the betterment of Ilonggos and the progress of Iloilo.IMT
