Congressman Raul “Boboy” Tupas said he has no ill feelings against Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. despite not being chosen as the latter’s running mate in the 2025 midterm elections.
In a radio interview, the incumbent representative of the province’s Fifth District stressed that he respects Defensor’s decision and assured that he would maintain his “good relationship” with the governor.
Tupas is running for vice governor under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party while Defensor is seeking reelection under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) party.
Should he win the vice gubernatorial race next year, Tupas vowed to support Defensor and the provincial government’s programs and projects.
According to the November 2024 survey conducted by Random Access Consultants Inc. (RACI), Tupas emerged as the top choice for the next vice governor of the province.
The congressman garnered the support of 76.9 percent of the survey’s respondents. The number was way higher than his closest opponent’s 19.8 percent.IMT
