Anilao Mayor Nathalie Ann Debuque will face off with Congressman Raul “Boboy” Tupas in the 2025 midterm elections for vice governor of Iloilo province.
Incumbent Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., who is seeking reelection for his third and final term, selected Debuque as his running mate.
The Defensor-Debuque tandem was officially introduced during the flag-raising ceremony at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol on Monday, Sep. 30.

Debuque, a University of the Philippines Manila graduate, was first elected mayor in 2016 at the age of 22.
“I am still a neophyte in politics, but I have enough experience in public service. You can trust me to bring more success and pride to Iloilo,” she said.
In a report by Radio station RMN-Iloilo, Tupas of the Fifth District confirmed that that he will run for the second highest elective position in the province.
