Typhoon Kristine hits over 100 houses in Iloilo

Severe Tropical Storm Kristine affected more than a hundred houses in the province of city of Iloilo.

A total of 90 houses were reported damaged in the City as of Thursday, Oct. 24.

Of the number 27 were totally wrecked and 63 sustained partial damages, data from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

City Proper recorded the highest number of affected houses at 46, followed by Arevalo with 17, Jaro (16), and Molo (11).

The number of affected families reached 172, equivalent to 728 individuals. They are currently staying in evacuation centers.

In the province, 11 houses were totally destroyed by strong winds caused by the typhoon. These were reported in the towns of Calinog, Dueñas and Ajuy.

Iloilo is currently under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 due to the weather disturbance.IMT
